Estuve buscando a Menma por todo el bosque durante la tarde pero no logré encontrarlo. Desistí mi búsqueda hasta la mañana siguiente. Busqué un lugar dónde dormir en el bosque, dibujé un campo mágico protector alrededor de mi campamento y me fui a dormir.
Dormía plácidamente cuando unos gritos me despertaron. Reconocí esa voz inmediatamente: Menma.
Se le oía gritar por todo el bosque. Eran gritos de dolor, pero no era la primera vez que los oía.
Supe dónde encontrarlo gracias a la pira de fuego gigante que había en medio del bosque. Cuando llegué, encontré al chico de rodillas sobre el suelo desconsolado, sucio, con heridas abiertas y lágrimas que no paraban de brotar de sus grandes azules ojos.
Él gritaba de dolor, estaba dejando salir toda la tristeza que había estado guardando en su corazón hasta ese momento.
“Jamás he visto tal soledad y tristeza” pensé en estado de shock.
Mis padres habían muerto cuando era pequeño pero mi familia de adopción siempre estuvo allí por mí y me dijo que detrás de mí siempre habrías alguien quién creyera en mí.
De repente noté cómo mis mejillas se humedecían. Llevé lentamente la mano derecha a mi rostro sin apartar la mirada de esa chico, entonces comprendí. Estaba llorando con él.
¿Por qué lo hacía?
